Mine was quite lovely.
I was wearing a little black dress and even put on makeup for that night ^-^.
The Lover came by at around 17:30 with yummy Sushi. I set the table nice and put candles all over.

We started out with shrimps and the inside-out makis. We ate slow and with pleasure At around 20:00 we watched “Iron man”. Not bad, but not great either (I think). After that, we played Monopoly and watched FRIENDS. At around midnight we got the glasses filled with champagne and stood on the balcony. At 0:00 we raised our glasses, toasted, kissed and looked at the fireworks. It was freaking cold outside! A little past midnight we watched Dinner for One (watch the Youtube video) and fell asleep happily at around 1:30am.

This was the first time I celebrated at home and the second time I’ve celebrated in Munich. I’m normally always in Austria, but this year, with the thesis and my sickness and all, it wasn’t possible. It was very nice nonetheless.

So, the beginning of 2009 will be quite busy for me.

1. On January 8th I’ll get braces - with 26! Only my bottom row though
2. On January 19th it’s my birthday
3. On January 23rd is my in-official deadline for my thesis. Luckily my official deadline in on March 20th, yet I want to be done with most of my thesis by the end of this month
4. On February 1st I start my job in my profession. I’m going to work in the GIS software development department and Radar imagery processing department. I’m so nosy
5. On March 1st the Lover and I are moving together - my first time living with a boyfriend! We need to get A LOT of things done before (like packing…)
6. Sometime between March and April: beg my boss for a few days vacation

I’m a little scared, but in a good way (just like Hanna is).

A lot to do and I just HOPE that I’ll have the discipline to work on my thesis 12+ hours a day the next three weeks and to finally get it complete! I want to get this OVER with!!

So… how u doin’?

Well, I already know. I’m still sick.
Brief history: I’ve had a sore throat the last three weeks. Not the typical sore throat - it was more the feeling that someone was choking me. I thought “Neh, I don’t need to go to the doctor because of that”. Then, one week ago and two days before Christmas, it got worse. I was sick. Of course every doctor was on holiday, so I got an appointment for today at the otorhinolaryngologist. I have a laryngo-pharyngeal and bronchi inflammation and everything is kinda swollen. My lymphs are big - huge! I’m on medication now and I’m happy and really really REALLY hope the infection will go away soon!

So, unfortunately my Christmas wasn’t as great as usual. I’ve been sick for a week now (well, all in all about three weeks), today is the first day it’s a bit better. The thing that worries me is my thesis, of course. I have such a strong headache when I’m sick that it’s impossible to write and concentrate and work on my thesis. But I plan on having it done by the end of the month!! Man, I’ve never been sick so much like in the last 10 months, whilst completing my thesis. I’m sooo sooo sooo happy when it’s done.

Oh, well, New Year’s the Lover is coming over to my place, we’re going to have a nice and lovely dinner and just stay home. For the first time EVER. My mom gave me a little bottle of champaign and we’ll toast on the balcony.

On Wedenesday I’m driving to my parents to celebrate Christmas Eve with my family. On Thursday I’ll hop on the train and drive to Stuttgart to the Lover’s parents. On Friday evening we’ll leave back to Munich to continue writing on the thesis (Lover is writing as well). It’s a short Christmas and I’m sad about that, but it’ll be nice.

I’m a little sick again - I can’t wait to, at some time, maybe get a few days off. I need a vacation - bad! This thesis is sucking me out
